After the devastating earthquake early in the morning of February 6th, KANA is providing emergency humanitarian aid to hard-to-reach locations in Turkey and Rojava. Please watch the video below and donate to earthquake relief efforts.
There are 10s of thousands of Kurds living in the US, most of whom immigrated to the US because they were targeted in their home countries of Iraq, Syria, Turkey, or Iran due to Kurdish support for the US-led initiative to fight terrorism. At KANA, we strive to empower the Kurdish-American community and promote Kurdish culture. We also have ongoing humanitarian aid programs to provide life-saving aid to Kurdish and Afghan allies abroad who are living in extreme poverty and in hiding while waiting for US visas.
Watch our short video or keep reading to learn more about our work for US allies!
KANA is providing emergency aid to hard-to-reach earthquake victims through coordination with teams on the ground. We have provided a large truck with food, water, and some medical supplies and have more aid on the way!
We host several activities to promote Kurdish culture, including a book club that meets online monthly, Kurdish cooking classes in the DC area, and a crochet class for Yazidi women in an IDP camp. This was a great success that brought joy and hope to these women!
We are 100% volunteer run so that all of your donations go directly to providing life-saving humanitarian aid to allies in need. Our humanitarian aid programs include donating food packages to Afghan allies in hiding in Afghanistan and Pakistan and donating sheep for Eid for Kurdish families in Syria who could not afford any meat to celebrate Eid. We can obtain basic food at wholesale prices, so $80 can feed a family in hiding for a month! For the displaced families we are assisting, most can survive on $200 to $300 a month including housing. Please consider donating to help save our allies’ lives.
While supplies last, we are giving a KANA mug to anyone who donates at least $25 or a KANA sweatshirt to anyone who donates at least $50! (Must have a US address.)
Donate!
Please donate to KANA so that we can sustain our mission & provide as much emergency earthquake aid as possible!
If you donate at least $25 you can request a free KANA mug, and if you donate at least $50 you can request a free KANA sweatshirt!
